Zack Breen is the lead guitarist of THE HARA, one of the most talked about up-and-coming rock bands in the UK. Zack – who comes from the small town of Leyland – combines an aggressive style with a virtuosic sense of melody, harmony, and dynamics. Zack takes inspiration from a plethora of players and musicians such as John Petrucci, Steve Vai, and Wes Borland but cites it wasn’t until his guitar tutor introduced him to the music of Guthrie Govan and Tom Quayle that his playing changed by putting an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and composition.
Grit, energy, and a perceptive exploration of the chaos that surrounds THE HARA have fuelled their releases and live performances from the start. Since their inception in 2017, THE HARA recently released their debut album Survival Mode (2023) to critical acclaim alongside a discography of 6 celebrated EPs and a Live DVD. They have been featured across airwaves and column inches with notable acclaim from BBC Introducing, EMP, KROQ, CLASH, TotalRock, Kerrang!, and many more.
Since 2021 THE HARA have had an exceptionally successful run touring their music in the UK and Europe and debuting at festivals both domestically and abroad; starting with Download Festival before bookending the summer and opening the main stage at Reading and Leeds. THE HARA have also played triumphant shows at SWSW, TRNSMT, Tramlines, Neighbourhood Weekender, Slam Dunk, Truck, Y Not, Kendall Calling, and Rock For People.
