The Boden Classic

What makes it special?

The Boden Classic is the .strandberg* take on the tried-and-true traditional bolt-on solidbody electric guitars with a pickguard. Featuring solid Alder body with Maple neck and Maple or Pau Ferro fretboard, the overall sound is familiar yet with the distinctive .strandberg* sound and feel. The 6-string Classic 6 Tremolo features .strandberg*-designed humbucker bridge pickup and two vintage-flavored single-coil pickups while the 7- and 8-string models feature two humbuckers that were all wound to .strandberg*’s exacting specifications.

What does it do?

Premium-grade two-piece Alder body coupled with roasted Maple neck and roasted Maple or Pau Ferro fretboard produces a big and fat sound with a focused punch that .strandberg* guitars have become known for. The new colorful satin finishes not only look striking but feel luxurious and smooth to the touch while the 3-piece roasted Maple neck with carbon fiber reinforcement provides rock-solid stability while the expertly dressed stainless steel frets facilitate fast and precise playing and silky-feeling string bends.

Who is it for?

Although the styling and sound may seem ideally suited for classic rock, the Classic can easily cover a wide range of sounds from pop and reggae to shred and modern metal without missing a beat. The solidbody construction and the pickups on a pickguard give the Classic models a different type of feel and sound from our other models but it is still uniquely .strandberg* with its trademark clarity, articulation, and an organic woody character.

The Malta Blue Classic 6 Tremolo features a white pearloid pickguard and Pau Ferro fretboard.

As usual, great instrument!!!

The Classic is the third one I own (I also have a Fusion and an Original). As expected, the quality of this instrument is amazing! The tremolo feels super smooth. The sound is astounding. I'm honored to be a part of the artist roster for Strandberg. Ola and the team, keep up the great work and delivering the most amazing instruments around! THANKS!!!! Socrates Garcia

A great guitar

Let me start with the finish of the guitar, which is very very good. Everything look and feels well made. Playability is really good; it plays effortlessly with easy high neck access. The setup is good out-of-the-box. Ergonomics is where this guitar shines: It is off the chart. It is light, the Enduro neck and fanned frets took no time to get used to and are very comfortable to play for long times; the Enduro neck even helped me improve on my fret-hand positioning. I like the sound of the Neck single-coil pickup. The middle (single-coil) and bridge (humbucker) are good, but for my personal taste I may swap those out for a bit more character. I'm not crazy about the tremolo system. This may be personal taste, but I like there to be no "play" in the arm and respond to input immediately; the screw-in type tremelo has quite a bit of wiggle before changing the pitch. I tried tightening it and, entirely by my own fault, overtightened it and broke the screw off so the arm no longer attaches. No guitar is perfect though and even with these nitpicks, I really endorse this guitar to anyone who wants a great instrument with incredible ergonomics.

All good

The guitar is almost perfect, only flaw I noticed is a little bump on the neck in the position relative to the first fret: it does not compromise the endur neck shape and playability, but at this price I expected no flaws. Also, I understand the positive aspects of having a bag instead of a case but for 1500 Euros I think you should really give the option for a semi-rigid case or a rigid case. Guitars are fragile and most people don't take airplanes every 2 days, they go to reharsal and gigs with cars and vans full of equipment. I also own a Boden OS 8, and both the guitars are really good instrument. They sound good and they are comfortable to play. Cheers, Andrea

Be aware of...

Be aware of the fact, that you will fall in love with it. It might not be love at first sight (or feel) but if you play a Strandberg for a couple of hours and then take one of your older guitars, it suddenly feels wrong. You just don't want to return! I absolutely love my Strandberg and eventually sold all my other guitars. If I get any new guitar someday, from now on it definitely will be another Strandberg guitar.

Very satisfied. Easy to play,

Very satisfied. Easy to play, great sound. Only one minus in my view. It is difficult to tune because you cannot keep the whammy locked while twisting the tuner knops. Keep up the good work. Allan
