Boden Plini Edition Natural

SKU: BD6TCT-17I-E-V-NA

Based in Sydney, Australia, Plini has taken the prog-metal genre to a new level of complexity and sophistication with his virtuosic command of the guitar and an advanced compositional style that draws from many genres of music – both traditional and modern. Taking our close working relationship to the next level, Plini and .strandberg* Guitars developed the Boden ‘Plini Edition’ model that covers all of his musical bases as well as his aesthetic tastes.

The Boden ‘Plini Edition’ features chambered Swamp Ash body with a Maple top for a superbly balanced and punchy sound with Australian Blackwood veneer top that Plini specifically specified in a nod to his home, roasted Maple neck with Ebony fretboard accented with his trademark moon inlay at the 12th fret, Suhr SSH+ and SSV pickups with a 3-way switch since he only uses those three sounds, one volume pot only since he never uses the tone knob, and the EGS 5 Pro tremolo system.

Simply described as “sick” by Plini, the Boden ‘Plini Edition’ is an instrument that lives up to the artistic vision that one of the premier instrumental guitarists and composers of this era relies on for both recording and live performances night after night.

An instrument with which you develop.

I have longed for the day when this guitar could finally be mine. My goal is to have earned such an instrument with the skill that comes with it and through it. After I was able to unpack it, tuning was almost not necessary. What a sound. With this lightweight guitar, you don't feel like you're holding too little in your hand. Perfectly balanced and not a gram too much or too little, just right. This guitar inspires me to invent new riffs, learn new techniques and get better, through and with it. A few adjustments were needed for the time being so that I was fully satisfied. The string action was slightly changed, as well as the tuning. Thanks to the videos and also the detailed texts, this was no problem, although a little challenging. You learn not only with this guitar, but also about it. This is pure progression. 5/5 would invest again.

Outstanding... „Beyond Guitar“

I have come across .strandberg* guitars through YouTube and my curiosity for these instrument just overwhelmed me; design, ergonomics and sound blew me away. Hence, I could not resist to go acquire one for myself. After two days the shipment arrived neatly packed (and I want to highlight the quality of the gig-bag included!). Impatiently unpacked, the guitar just fell right in my lap and I was blown away by the feeling, playability and sound...and I still am. No day goes by without grabbing it and starting to jam - I am totally hooked. Furthermore, the finish and quality are great. It is simply beautiful. (However, one thing I noticed is that there are some glue residue and small marks on the fretboard, pick-ups etc., this might bother people taking into account the price of the guitar. In my opinion though each guitar is a piece of art and unique, so it does not irritate me as much. And some cleaning and maintenance gets rid of most of it.) All in all, an insanely great and beautiful instrument for guitar enthusiasts. Straight 5 stars (even considering the small marks mentioned above). And definitely something else beyond the realm of ESP, Gibson, Ibanez etc. Love it!

Fantastic Guitar.

I wanted to learn the guitar when I was 6 years old, but had a bad experience that made me give it up... After 30 years of frustration, I decided to seriously start learning guitar (with a great teacher) and fell in love with the .strandberg design* . My Boden Prog Plini Edition is amazing. Beautiful. Simple. Ergonomic (the Endurneck feels so great!), easy to play and carry, I don't think I would ever leave it. Just seeing it on its stand makes me want to play it, at least 1 hour a day, and fills me with happiness. Never give up your dreams, and enjoy yourself! Thank you Ola Strandberg for this incredible guitar. Cheers from France
