SPARK Community 2022 Highlights #1

Welcome back as we explore the 2022 edition of the .strandberg* SPARK program! SPARK is a one-of-a-kind community project, creative competition, and the official Facebook community for anything and everything related to .strandberg* Guitars, where group members create and post original content based on creative prompts in order to win prizes.

Topics this year have so far included #2022, #PerformYourFavoriteMusic, #Loop, #HeadfortheHeadless, #LessIsMore, and #MoreIsMore, with the latest round of topics consisting of #MusicRoulette and #Repurpose. Here are some of our favorite SPARK highlights since the start of the year!

Vitaliy Tkachuk

For the topic of #PerformYourFavoriteMusic, Vitaliy Tkachuk performed this wonderful rendition of Bach’s Sonata #1 from his apartment in Alicante, Spain. Beautiful playing, tones, and scenery. Well done, Vitaliy!

See his full entry on the .strandberg* SPARK Community page.

Teemu Miininen

#HeadForTheHeadless entry by Teemu Miininen

For the topic of #HeadForTheHeadless, Teemu Miininen designed this 3D render of a .strandberg*-specific “headstock” tuner!

From Teemu:

“Everyone needs to be in tune! Simple tuner concept idea. No buttons, activates by tapping. Clipped on to the truss rod. Comes with a soft rubber base.”

See Teemu’s full entry on the .strandberg* SPARK Community page.

Benjamin Langels

#MoreIsMore submission by Benjamin Langels

For #MoreIsMore, Benjamin Langels submitted this wild Megaberg Boden 16, complete with 16 strings, 2 massively long Fishman pickups, and the most extended range hardware that’s ever been put on a .strandberg*. Is it real? No. Is more actually more? Yes.

Victor Mata

#2022 entry by Victor Mata

For the topic of #2022, Victor Mata created this “2022 Goals” short documentary, whereby he documented the process of tackling his 2022 goals of exercising more, eating better, and practicing more guitar (among other things). The whole thing is very inspiring, and if nothing else, is a very entertaining watch!

Watch the full video entry here.

Benjamin Langels

For the topic of #Loop, Benjamin Langels did the impossible and composed a song using clones of himself! We’re not sure how he did it, but the end result is an easy listen and we’re glad he wrote it.

From Benjamin:

Think I’ll call this composition:
“Me, myself & that ugly dude on the right. Who even let that guy in? He looks like a douche and has been in the fridge like 5 times since he got here.”

See Benjamin’s full entry on the .strandberg* SPARK Community page.

What is SPARK?

.strandberg* Spark is a one-of-a-kind community project, creative competition, and the official Facebook community for anything and everything related to .strandberg* Guitars, where group members create and post original content based on creative prompts in order to win prizes.

The basis for the group is simple: every two weeks, our Spark admin team crafts two topics that are meant to stir the creative juices of group participants, who then contribute their creative spin on the current topics. Each member can post one contribution per topic (two submissions every two weeks) and can be awarded up to 10 points per submission. Each submission is judged by the Spark admin team and judging is based on the creativity, originality, and overall quality of the submission. The first 4 participants who earn 200 points or more from the jury in the 2022 season will receive a .strandberg* Boden Classic or Standard of their choice for free, and among all other participants who have received points, another .strandberg* guitar will be raffled off at the end of the season.

Spark members are highly encouraged to use any creative resource to come up with their interpretation of the current topics; it’s not just limited to guitar videos, but can be poetry, mixed media, art, fashion, or just about anything you find relevant to the topics presented — the only limit is your creativity!
