Adil Rahim AKA “Adieu” is a Malaysian musician who has played a key role in shaping Southeast Asia’s progressive instrumental guitar scene. Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, he embarked on his musical journey at a young age, initially learning the trumpet before quickly immersing himself in the world of guitar.
In 2017, Adieu made a significant impact with his debut solo album, D’if. The album features collaborations with prominent artists such as Adam Rafowitz and Adam Bentley (Arch Echo), Tom Monda (Thank You Scientist), Diego Tejeida and Conner Green (HAKEN), Bumblefoot (Sons of Apollo/Guns N’ Roses), and Luke Martin (Plini). This release not only showcased his eclectic sound but also paved the way for him to become a .strandberg* artist in 2018.
Before recording his EP, Adieu had already opened for world-renowned artists like Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth) and Tosin Abasi (Animals As Leaders), further establishing his presence in the guitar community. He has since released several notable singles featuring guest artists, including the sensational Japanese Instagram guitarist Ichika Nito. Additionally, he has contributed to Maroon Valley alongside Sithu Aye and Jacob Umansky (Intervals) and released a single featuring Yas Nomura (Hyde, The Resonance Project).
Currently, Adieu is working on a full-length album set to be released soon. We are proud to work with exciting artists such as Adieu who are constantly propelling the modern progressive music envelope to new and exciting heights.
“My journey with .strandberg* began unexpectedly at the Freak Guitar Camp in Sweden, where I met Ola Strandberg. Recovering from surgery and dealing with nerve damage, I needed a guitar that wouldn’t strain my hand. I instantly felt a profound connection with the guitar, which offered the comfort and playability I needed at the time. Since then, I’ve exclusively used .strandberg* Guitars, as nothing else compares.”
