Born and raised in France in a South Korean family, Raoul Tchoï’s eclectic musical journey started at a young age, from countless hours spent exploring his father’s record collection to strumming his first notes on a guitar at the age of six, an instrument he would never part with.
Known on the progressive scene, he uses the term as a way to blend his love for metal, pop, jazz, classical, and folk music. A self-taught improviser and true multi-instrumentalist, he thrives on breaking musical boundaries.
Initially on track for a career in law and research, Raoul dropped out of a master’s degree in musicology to pursue a career in sound engineering. Shortly after winning the Horizon Devices contest in 2019, he started sharing daily musical content online under the alias chillytoy, attracting a dedicated fanbase and major partners over the years.
Also active in the disco pop band Panache! and other fun projects such as the semiserious metal band KVLT AF, Raoul is gearing up for the release of his first solo album, pushing his artist vision further than ever before.
Raoul is one of the most unique creative forces out there with such an original sound. You can’t help but smile when you hear his music.
