If you’re changing to another type of string and/or tuning, additional setup may be needed as well. This includes neck relief adjustment, string height adjustment, setting intonation, filing of the nut, and balancing of the tremolo bridge (in you have one). More on that subject below.
Neck relief adjustment
A properly adjusted neck is crucial to ensure the best possible performance from your .strandberg* guitar or bass. An unfavourable neck angle is usually caused by changes in temperature/humidity and/or changes in string tension (gauges/tuning) which means that such setup work will occasionally have to be done on most instruments. Please use our online guide whenever a tweak of the neck is called for: https://strandbergguitars.com/row/how-to-adjust-the-truss-rod-of-your-strandberg-guitar/
Bridge setup
This part of the setup on a .strandberg* instrument contains various elements depending on the bridge type, including the adjustment of string height, intonation, and tremolo action. Please get familiar with our bridges through the following online guide that also addresses common problems and how to solve them: https://strandbergguitars.com/row/how-to-setup-and-use-the-strandberg-egs-series-5-tremolo-system/
Setting intonation is a procedure that is different depending on who you ask and who you are as a player. Setting this up to your requirements may take some experimenting, but a good place to start can be found in our FAQ: https://support.strandbergguitars.com/article/97-adjusting-intonation
Other areas of importance
