About This Project
I was happy to get another request for my “signature” f-hole on #49. Ever since coming up with it for Tosin Abasi’s #8, I have been pleased with how it ties the look of the guitar together with the .strandberg* logo, and how it gives the guitar a distinctive look. Chris set out to have a guitar with a subdued look to it, and already owned a guitar with Myrtlewood/Swamp Ash body and Ebony/Maple neck, so decided to go with the same combinations. The stain came as an afterthought, but together with the black and gold hardware, it met the goal in the looks department.
As far as the sound goes, it met Chris’ goals there as well! As most people do, he describes it as “organic” and that there is a feeling of the wood really impacting the sound directly in a way that can be felt when playing. The Bare Knuckle Warpig pickups was another safe choice that Chris had used before and was expected to work well with the low mass of the guitar.
