The pinnacle of the highly acclaimed Boden Original design

The Boden ‘Original’ Neckthrough

What makes it special?

The neck-thru-body design and construction facilitates unparalleled playability in the upper register of the fretboard while providing a unique punchy tone with improved sustain. Light weight and superbly balanced for hours of playing comfort, the extended EndurNeck profile across the entire length of the neck means the benefits of the design is maximized to further enhance your playing. Visually, the instrument is strikingly sleek and refined with an ideal balance between forward-thinking innovation and time-tested traditional. Tonally, the Original Neck-Thru can cover any musical style from aggressive shred and chunky metal rhythm to sparkling clean funk and earthy classic rock.

What does it do?

Besides the amazing playability and comfort, the Boden Original Neck-Thru delivers a wide palette of musical sounds with a distinct sonic character due to its neck-thru-body construction. Compared to the bolt-on, the sound is punchier and more focused with enhanced sustain. The woods were carefully selected and matched to maximize the natural acoustic characteristics of the design and construction. Swamp Ash’s punchy high-midrange complements the chambered body wings. Combined with the 5-ply carbon fiber reinforced Roasted Maple neck-thru-body, solid Flame Maple top and Roasted Birdseye Maple fretboard which provide rigidity, focus and upper midrange brilliance, the Original Neck-Thru has an exceptionally balanced acoustic character. The .strandberg* Original bridge and neck humbuckers with special 5-way wiring delivers a full spectrum of great humbucker and single-coil sounds.

Who is it for?

The Original Neck-Thru is for the advanced and uncompromising musician who requires the ultimate in performance, playability and sonic versatility. The forward-looking instrument reflects the vision of an artist who seeks to balance the past with the future to explore new musical territories, going well beyond what has been achieved in the past. Looking to break out of the classic/vintage rut? The Original Neck-Thru defines where the electric guitar is going in the New Millennium.

Unique Qualities

Anatomy of a Strandberg

There are many design elements and factors that comprise a .strandberg* guitar. Each aspect - from the materials and components used to the ergonomic design features - has been carefully thought out and implemented to produce a guitar that is light weight, easy to play and has a big woody organic sound. Explore these different aspects that set a .strandberg* guitar apart from the rest.

Headless

By removing weight from the headstock, your guitar can be made very light and yet balanced. You can play with greater comfort for longer.

Versatile Body Shape

The body shape provides multiple seated playing positions for maximum comfort and versatility.

Scale Lengths Adapted to You

A multi-scale design allows your wrist to remain relaxed throughout the range of play. A longer scale length for the heavier strings provide better tone, and shorter in the thinner strings better playability.

Patented Neck Profile

Our patented EndurNeck™ profile promotes a more correct playing position. The result: you can play longer, faster, better and avoid injury.

Space Age Materials

Our hunt for great tone and low weight led us to using aircraft grade aluminium and carbon fiber for maximum performance.

Proprietary Hardware

The custom .strandberg* hardware is a vital contributor to the tone of the instrument. Lightweight aircraft grade aluminium and tight coupling of components ensure that nothing prevents the strings' vibrations from entering the body.
