Experience the amazing range of the .strandberg* baritone hybrid. This was developed in collaboration with Tosin Abasi of Animals as Leaders:
“I never thought that I could re-experience the same feeling of joy that I got when I first played an 8 string, but this is even further (and lower!!!)”
The 1st to 6th string utilize a slight fanned fret scale ranging from 25″ to 25.5″, giving just a little extra comfort on higher strings while retaining a familiar feel that relaxes the wrist. The 7th and 8th strings continue the fan, but with an additional two frets behind the zero fret, resulting in a 28.66″-28.75″ scale. Tosin tunes it in C#AEADGBE with a .085″ gauge 8th string.
A Rosewood neck with Swamp Ash body gives plenty of attack and responsiveness with an organic sound that cuts through any mix. Additionally:
“the guitar is so incredibly light that I can’t stand to play my other guitars!”
After having received #8, we immediately went to work on designing a companion guitar with a conventional fanned fret scale that would allow playing existing song material without a capo – #17. This has a solid body for a little more “growl” and a bolt on neck for even snappier sound.
